What to look for

A finished wall should look as if it was always meant to be there. Look closely at:

  • Window reveals: even all the way round, not lumpy or thin
  • Sills: deep enough to sit proud of the new wall
  • Corners: straight and sharp from top to bottom
  • The base: a neat line above the ground, not finished into the soil
  • Pipes and fittings: refitted on the new face, not left buried
